Simplify

"Our life is frittered away by detail.  Simplify.  Simplify. "
- Henry David Thoreau

When my life becomes cluttered, when the house or yard or car becomes cluttered......I feel out of sorts.  Then I become almost manic about simplifying, about getting rid of the clutter.
Detail truly steals your life......getting there, but it is hard to let go.
Spending time with Thoreau would have been very interesting.
It all comes down to control, doesn't it?

  1. I wish it was so easy to simply. I haven't found the secret to doing it yet. I wonder what Thoreau would have to say about things, if he lived in this era.

  2. We live in an age where there is so much convenience, everything is available in an instant and I think that we are all on overload. I'm sure that you have come across the article The Paradox of Our Age,......we live in larger houses but smaller families, etc. If not you can google it.

Less is better but Oh My, it's not easy to let go of our much stuff.

  3. I don't like clutter either. I'm a minimalist. If my desk gets messy, I spend some time clearing it. A clean desk is inspiring.
