The Growing Season

A busy day, a Costco trip and then my favorite, a trip to a garden center to pick up some plants to freshen up my flower beds.  Zinnias, larkspur, shasta daisy and foxgloves filled our truck and the most exquisite bougainvilla ( not sure about spelling) in the softest pale pink and green.
When the bed is reworked, I will post pictures.

We have green tomatoes in the garden, blueberries are starting to ripen, garlic is ready to dig.
I love the growing season.  Soon there will be squash and peppers and eggplants, life will be good.
To watch the transformation from seed to something edible is truly a miracle.

At some point in your life, everyone should experience the growing season.  Growing your own food gives a sense of satisfaction and confidence that is hard to explain.  Hands in dirt changes the way you look at life, it is humbling and exhilarating.  To eat fresh food that you grew, well there is nothing like it and you don't have to live on a farm.  You can grow tomatoes in a flower pot.

We are getting ready for our annual fish fry.  Lots of hard work, but so much fun, I can't wait.

Hump day has been fun.
Goodnight, Sweet dreams
