Class Work

A class on balance with someone who MS today.  A few years ago I did my yoga MS certification and I have used that class work many many times, not only for students with MS, but also with RA, cancer and many other diseases.

Today my student wanted balance work and that we did.  I showed him how to use the wall, how to modify balance poses for his body and needs.  At one point tears were in his eyes as he looked at me and said,"it's just knowing I can do this now."  As I  modified asanas, and used props to make him more comfortable he seemed rather stunned that I could help him enjoy yoga so much and that he was stronger and more able than he thought.

The heat is rising again, yesterday was so pleasant, the humidity so low, it was a great respite.
I knew it wouldn't last, but was hopeful there would be more than one day before the air grew heavy and thick again.

Hump day tomorrow, for me it is my last work day for the week.  Shots in the ear on Thursday and then more doctor visits on Friday, I am much like an old car, just have to have a good tune-up every once in awhile.

Be kind, spread joy.

  1. It was wonderful that the young man with MS found that he could do yoga too. Surely his confidence is soaring.

  2. To me Wednesday is just an ordinary day as I work 7 days a week. I have never called it hump day but I wonder why they called it Wednesday. I had to look it up. In French it's called Mercredi.

I'm glad your MS student is enjoying his Yoga classes and can improve his balance. It must be very encouraging for him.
    Hugs, Julia
