Welcome Fall

Storms are moving in tonight, and with them a cold front.  Tomorrow we should have our very first taste of fall.
So I hung my fall flag to welcome my favorite time of the year.  70 degree days and 50 degrees at night, woo hoo!

It seems I am not alone in my love for fall. I have had so many people the past few days tell me how much they too, love fall.

It's interesting when we talk about our love  for a particular season, but one of the things I kept hearing time and time again about fall, was the crisp air and blue skies.

Here in Alabama, late summer brings hot temperatures, high humidity and lots of pollen.  You have to truly love summer to enjoy summer in Alabama.  The true lovers are already complaining about the coming of fall, begging summer to stay forever.

I love the changing of the seasons, especially fall. The colors of fall are so rich and vibrant, reds, golds, orange, purples and browns and everything in between.  There is something about that crispness in the air that awakens the spirit.  The smell of burning leaves, sweaters, boots, great holidays ( Halloween and Thanksgiving) for me, fall has it all.

I know when it comes to the weather, it is much like everything else...we all have our opinions.
But for me, I am excited about the next couple of days, it is a taste of what's to come and I am ready.
Welcome Fall!  I know that for us, the temps will be back in the 80's by midweek and that is ok.
For now, I am happy with 48 hours of fall.

  1. It's raining outside now and the temps have fallen. Tomorrow and Sunday won't get out of the 60's. But that's how it rolls around these parts. Yes, we'll still have some 80de days but they will be few and far between. I too love Fall and don't even get me started about Halloween...I'm already planning my party! I have to get the pool closed up and the grandkiddos are sad to see swimming end. Even if the temps get warm the nights are cool and the water will never warm up enough again...until next year! Enjoy your cool down!

  2. I have called it football weather since I was a child. The days are lovely and warm-ish. The evenings are often cool with a hint of the cold to come. And candy apples were sold at the high school football games.
