Nobility

Tonight, I give you a quote from Ernest Hemingway.

"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man;
true nobility is being superior to your former self."  Ernest Hemingway

I put this one on my board in class today.  I figure Hemingway struggled with his former and present self as much as anyone.

  1. Poor Hemingway, I don't think he found true happiness in his life and ended his life in a sad way.
    My author friend and I were discussing several authors who wrote brilliantly but struggled with their own demons. It's because of their inner struggle that they came out with such poignant quotes.

    Have a great day Jilda.
    Hugs,
