The lore that is associated with it, I find fascinating, the design itself one of beauty and grace.
I think as far as body placement, either shoulder or upper arm, still thinking about that.
And when do I see this work of art taking place? when Rick and I finish our singer/songwriter
cd. It will be my celebration.
I know it may seem a bit strange to go all these years without a tattoo, and then decide to get one.
But, I think there are certain rites of passages that I never did, and that's ok, but this one represents a certain freedom for me. I need to do this for myself.
I have friends with tattoos and some of my friends will be appalled when I do this. It won't be the first time I have appalled someone or the last.
I know a lot of you got tattoos on a whim, but this is something that will be me with forever......I want beauty and symbolism, I want it to be worth the pain. The cd is coming along slowly, but rest assured when it is completed, you will know........hopefully you will hear.........and you will see.
The lotus is a beautiful choice. My daughter has a tattoo on the small of her back. It is the Elvish sign for the number nine (she was born on the 9th day of the 9th month), and there are three cirlcles representing her three children. It has the beauty and symbolism you speak of.
ReplyDeleteJilda, I think this is a wonderful idea. Go for it. It will be a magnificent expression of who you are. I also want a tattoo quite badly. I have known for a long time what I want, and it hasn't changed. I want one that reads, "Sento la musica" ("I feel the music" in Italian), and I want it along the side of my foot. I just have to gain the courage to brave through the needles involved...
ReplyDeleteGo for it! The only reason I don't have a tattoo is like you, I'm not sure what I want permanently inked on my body. Well, and I know it'll hurt.
ReplyDeleteI don't want a tattoo. A lot of my same age friends have them both men and women. That's fine. I just don't want one. I like my lilly white pale never gets in the sun if she can help it flesh.
ReplyDeleteWell maybe a nice razor wire around my neck one, just something special for that man who demands I prove I am owned by him and although object to tattoos on principle will forget all thoughts of that to please his tall, dark, handsome, brooding angry face this once!
Get yourself a tattoo if it pleases you. Don't dilly dally.
