What If
What if our religion was each other?
If our practice was our life?
If prayer was our words?
What if the temple was the Earth?
If forests were our church?
If holy water- the rivers, lakes and oceans?
What if meditation was our relationships?
If the Teacher was life?
If wisdom was self-knowledge?
If love was the center of our being?

So much of the world problems could be solved if we lived with the "what ifs". The forest church line brought back a memory of a family camping trip in Wisconsin when I was a kiddo. Dad took us on a hike in a beautiful woods..it was October...and he said he felt closer to God in those woods than in any church...I think he was right.
ReplyDeleteA wise poem. I think the world wouldn't need police, prison, soldiers and weapons and borders. It would be heaven on earth.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day Jilda.
